There are various measures you may take to protect your skin and eyes as you prepare to be splashed and colored by others.

Protection for the skin

The market is flooded with a rainbow of colors. Mercury, asbestos, silica, mica, and lead are all present in the majority of them. These are industrial dyes and alkalis, both of which are extremely harmful to human skin and eyes. To protect your skin from dangerous chemicals, switch to herbal colors. You may produce your own colors at home as well. A nice orange color can be achieved by combining besan and turmeric, for example. Beetroot, on the other hand, may be utilized to generate a nice pink tint.

Before heading out to play Holi, create a barrier between your skin and the color. Apply sunscreen and oil at least 30 minutes before going outside. Remember to apply the face oil and sunscreen on your ears, neck, and other exposed areas of your body as well. To avoid colors adhering to your nails for days, trim your nails and apply glossy nail polish. On your nails, use clear-coated nail polish. Apply the polish to the skin surrounding your nails as well to prevent color from oozing or becoming trapped.

Protection for your hair

When you oil your hair, it prevents color from reaching the hair shaft and causing hair breakage when you wash it out. To establish a protective layer for your hair, massage coconut or olive oil into your scalp thoroughly. Cover your hair with a scarf or bandana once you’ve oiled it. Twist your hair into a bun or draw it back into a tight ponytail instead of leaving it out. It will protect your hair and keep the color from absorbing too rapidly.

Protection for the eyes

To protect the eyes, apply a layer of cold cream or coconut oil around them. During Holi, avoid wearing contact lenses. If the color gets into the eye, it becomes deposited in the contact lenses, where it can seep out over time and cause more significant chemical injury. Furthermore, any color on the lenses might permanently discolor them, necessitating their removal.

Wearing or removing these lenses with color-stained fingers may cause chemical eye injury. In addition, unclean fingers can transmit diseases to the eye, which is especially troublesome for contact lens wearers. While participating in Holi, wearing sunglasses will protect your eyes from the color as well as the colored water. Now that summer has here, sunglasses will shield your eyes from dangerous UV rays. Please get medical treatment if you develop any rashes, redness, or itching.
