Putting different colors on each other may sound like fun, but it has a significant impact on your skin. To secure and defend your skin, you must take additional steps and take good care of it. I don’t wish to put a damper on your celebration, but Holi colors contain potent chemicals that can lead to acne and other allergies. Plantas’ Chief Research Officer, Madhumeeta Dhar, advised a few easy techniques to preserve your skin during the festival of colors.

How To Prevent Acne From Developing As A Result Of Holi Colors

So, if you’re getting ready for the festival of colors and joy but worried about your complexion, we’ve got a solution for you.

To the rescue, ice cubes

Madhumeeta Dhar, Plantas’ Chief Research Officer, says “Open pores are one of the most common causes of harsh chemicals harming your skin. Make sure you rub your skin with ice cubes half an hour before you go out to play Holi. Ice cubes assist to close pores quickly, preventing the colors from penetrating your skin.”

Cleansers that are organic and natural should be used

She goes on to say that keeping your skin clear is recommended for persons with acne since their skin pores are larger and, as a result, the quantity of dust, pollutants, colors, and other substances absorbed by the skin is increased. As a result, it is important to cleanse your face with an organic and natural anti-acne face wash to reduce the risk of contracting a skin allergy.

“Using a natural toner and an acre treatment serum will go a long way toward resolving the problem,” she advises.

It’s crucial to keep your skin moisturized

“One vital step is to hydrate your skin well in advance with face oil or an organic face lotion,” Mandhumeeta explains. “Applying face oil or moisturizer the night before Holi is recommended so that it has enough time to soak and keeps your skin hydrated the next day. Also, use a mild moisturizer before you begin playing to act as a barrier between your skin and the colors.”

Don’t forget to apply sunscreen

To get the most out of all of the aforementioned methods, Plantas’ Chief Research Officer recommends using sunscreen to defend against the detrimental effects of the sun’s rays.

Wishing you everyone a wonderful and safe Holi!
