Adequate amount of water should be provided in the pond after cutting the pond. However, care must be taken to see if there are any germs in the pond water. If there are germs, they should be killed using lime or any other pesticide. Then you have to leave the fish poon or small fish in the pond with adequate amount of food. There is a lot of demand for it in the market of Bangladesh. However, the price of this hilsa fish is much higher in Bangladesh. Due to this many hilsa fish are out of reach. The middle class family cannot afford to buy this fish. However, at present there is a variety in the market which is almost the same as hilsa but not hilsa. These are available at lower prices than the market.
